How to Attach a Plaque to a Rock: A Step-By-Step Guide

Modern House Numbers address plaques come with pre-drilled holes, templates, and hidden mounting hardware that make installation easy and worry-free.

  1. The setup is simple – all you need to do is find a smooth, flat surface on the rock where you'll secure your plaque, and attach your template where you'll be installing the plaque.
  2. Once this step is done, you can move on to drilling the rock. Using a masonry bit or hammer drill is critical, especially for those with no previous drilling experience.
  3. The time and effort this step requires mainly depend on the hardness of the rock in question.
  4. After all the holes are drilled accordingly, you'll secure the studs in the backside of the plaque with a small bit of epoxy, slide the spacers over the studs, and then mount the plaque to the stone with a epoxy.

Tips for Installing Plaque to a Rock

We believe that each installation is unique, and you may face challenges during this process. This is why we created a short list of tips coming from our in-house experts, who have years of experience in the field.

When installing a plaque, it’s a good idea to keep the following in mind:

    • Choose a larger stone with a flat surface; this will make the installation easier
    • Make sure there is contrast between the stone and the plaque for better visibility
    • Approach this process patiently; some plaque installations take more time than others
    • Anticipate that installing the plaque on an uneven rock surface might require extra effort
