Meet Dianna Huff: A Champion for U.S. Manufacturing
Dianna is an industrial manufacturing marketer with a deep appreciation for American made craftsmanship. Through her blog, she brings attention to companies that are doing things the right way; sustainably, locally, and with intention. Her mission is to remind consumers that behind every “Made in the USA” product, there’s a story worth telling.
How Dianna Found Us
Years ago, Dianna visited a big-box store looking for stylish mailbox numbers and came up empty handed. A quick online search led her to Modern House Numbers, where she ordered our Soho font mailbox decals. The result? A standout mailbox that still looks great eight years later!
Why She Chose to Feature Modern House Numbers
In her post, Dianna shares what drew her to our story: a husband-and-wife team, Brandy and Rick McLain, who turned a personal design challenge into a thriving business. In 2008, while renovating their home in Tucson, they couldn’t find modern address numbers they loved, so they made their own. When neighbors began asking about them, they realized they’d created something special. That moment sparked the beginning of Modern House Numbers.
Dianna appreciated Brandy and Rick’s unwavering commitment to thoughtful design and sustainable U.S. production, values that have guided Modern House Numbers since day one.
Design with Purpose, Built to Last
Dianna also took a moment to highlight Modern House Number’s commitment to sustainability, praising our clean and efficient production process.
Each number is handcrafted in Tucson from recycled 3/8″ aluminum, a strong, sustainable material. Every aluminum sheet layout is optimized to reduce waste, demonstrating a commitment to both craftsmanship and environmental stewardship.
Using precision waterjet cutting, we create crisp, solid numbers (never stamped or hollow), then finish each piece with a long-lasting powder coating available in matte black, bronze, white, or brass for timeless curb appeal.
Rooted in Local Manufacturing
Brandy also emphasized to Dianna that keeping Modern House Numbers’ manufacturing local does more than ensure quality — it supports local jobs, bolsters the Tucson economy, and significantly reduces our carbon footprint. Most importantly, it keeps us closely connected to the people and community we proudly serve.
Brandy explained the company’s belief,
“Modern details create a more beautiful world. That’s why we design products that empower people to add style, character, and lasting value to their surroundings — wherever they call home.”
